The District 8 Board has adopted the Greeley 9Health Fair as our Spring Project. Last year the Geeley site served 1,500 people. This year that number could double because of our economic problems, high unemployment and many families losing health insurance. This is an amazing opportunity for us to have a significant impact on the health of our community. You can read personal stories about critical health issues identified becasue of the screenings on  the 9Health Fair web site   http://www.9healthfair.org/

Our greatest need is for our District 8 members to help us recruit volunteers. You represent a cross-section of nursing leaders in Weld County and we are asking that you talk to your colleagues and co-workers. We need nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, lab technicians, EMTs, medical assistants, physical therapists, cardiac rehab specialists, and respiratory therapists. We will have one-hour time slots and volunteers can sign up for as many slots as they like. We would also like to develop an on-call roster of volunteers that are willing to come in if scheduled volunteers do not arrive.

Please use the information below to recruit volunteers. We would also like to recruit Team Leaders for each of these screening areas. Stacie Seaman is serving as the Site Medical Coordinator. Please e-mail Stacie at   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it    to sign up for time slots.

Re-Designing District 8

Welcome to the re-designed web site for District 8. We don't have an "Under Construction" animation on our Home page but we are in the process of building this website.

Our website re-design is a direct reflection of the changes going on within District 8. We are "re-thinking" how we operate - addressing the needs and interests of busy nurses and especially the emerging generation of nurses. We are moving toward an online community and this website will serve as the hub for connection and communication. We will be hosting a series of moderated blogs focused throughoutnthe year. The first one focused on new nurse graduates. Our second focuses on healthcare reform.

We are also sponsoring some fun activities and participating in activist events. We've rallied at the University of Northern Colorado Relay for Life to show our support for the teams led by the amazing student nurses. CNA also sponsors a "Nurses Night at the Rockies" during Nurses Week in May.

So, check this site frequently - we're constantly changing!
